Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective date: October 15, 2026
This policy applies to paid plans and AI credit top-ups for LegiMatch, a sole proprietorship based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record.
In short: try LegiMatch free first. Once you pay, payments are not refundable, except when something went wrong on our side. You can stop future renewals at any time.
1. Free Trial
- New users get a 14-day free trial with unlimited research and 10 AI credits. No card is needed.
- The trial ends after 14 days, or as soon as you buy a paid plan, whichever comes first.
- Entering your card and paying for a plan starts that paid plan immediately. Your billing date starts that day, and your plan's AI credits are added straight away. Any unused trial AI credits stay until the original trial end date.
- If you don't buy a plan, the trial simply ends, and you are never charged.
Please use the trial to decide whether LegiMatch is right for you before you pay.
2. Cancellation
- You can cancel at any time from Settings → Plan & billing → Cancel subscription, or by emailing [email protected].
- Cancelling stops all future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- There are no cancellation fees.
3. Refunds
Because you can try LegiMatch free before paying, all payments are final and non-refundable, except in these situations:

No refund is given for:
- changing your mind, or not using the Service;
- forgetting to cancel before a renewal (annual plans get a reminder email about 30 days before they renew);
- research results you didn't find useful, as long as the Service worked as described;
- used AI credits, or top-ups (except for a billing error or a problem on our side);
- accounts closed for breaching the Terms of Service.
AI credits for a research that fails because of an error on our side, or during which our AI is unavailable, are returned to your account automatically. You don't need to ask.
4. Asking for a Refund Also Stops Renewal
If you ask for a refund, we will cancel your subscription's next renewal at the same time, whether or not the refund is approved. You keep access until the end of the paid period, unless we refund that whole period, in which case access ends when the refund is made. You can start a new plan at any time.
5. Adding or Removing Seats
- Adding seats: charged pro-rata for the rest of the current billing period.
- Removing seats: takes effect at the next renewal. There are no partial refunds for seats removed mid-period.
6. How to Ask
Email [email protected] from your account email, with the date of the charge and what went wrong (for a technical problem, include what you were doing and any error message). We reply within 2 business days. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. Most problems can be fixed quickly. While a bank dispute (chargeback) is open, we may pause the account.
